Enhanced Medium

Auxiliary Memory (EMAM)

Attributes

This section describes the specific composition of Enhanced Medium

Auxiliary Memory (EMAM) attributes. Each EMAM attribute is identified

by a 2-byte attribute ID.

Attribute Format 4

Each EMAM attribute is communicated between the application client

and the drive in the format shown in figure 123

and described in table

136. This format is used in the parameter data for the WRITE ATTRIBUTE

command (see WRITE ATTRIBUTE Command (8Dh)

on page 336) and

the

READ ATTRIBUTE command (see READ ATTRIBUTE Command

(8Ch) on page 235).

Number

Indicates the first partition available on the

specified volume number. Partition numbering

starts at 0.

available. DLT-S4 tape drives only support one

partition on the medium.
