Inserting a

Cartridge

To insert a tape cartridge into the magazine:

1 Open the library door.

2 Verify that all library SCSI library activity has stopped (the

message Library Idle will be displayed on the OCP).

3 Set the write-protect switch on the tape cartridge to the desired

position (see figure 12

4 Orient the tape cartridge with the write-protect switch at the

top (see figure 12

Note: The cartridge is write-protected if the orange indicator

is visible. The cartridge is write-enabled if the orange

indicator is not visible.
