Planning for Networking Requirements

At the installation site, the LAN administrator must configure the following network settings before the

Pathlight VX can be connected to the customer LAN and be available for remote administration. Use Table

14 to specify network settings for the installation site.

Supported Browser Versions

The Pathlight VX Service and User Interfaces support these Internet browsers:

• Internet Explorer 5.5 and later versions

• Netscape 7.x

Determining Internet Explorer Browser Version

Use this procedure to determine the Internet Explorer version used by the customer.

1 On customer network where Pathlight VX will be installed, launch Internet Explorer.

2 On the menu bar, select Help→ About Internet Explorer.

Note

For best results when using an Internet browser to access the Pathlight VX

Service and User Interfaces, verify these settings:

• JavaScript (active scripting) is enabled in the Security settings of

the browser.

• Pop-up blocker is disabled.

• Page caching is disabled.
